So you are not left behind...due to 6th former for a day please ensure you have completed the following;

- Caught up with annotating Little Red Cap and Anne Hathaway

- Read and annotate Mrs Icarus and Mrs Darwin - What do they add to the collection? What do they say about men in general? What is the overall tone? Compare the women in the poems so far and write at least 2 paragraphs explaining your views

- Read the chivalry article and answer the questions - either online or in your notes (see if you can relate any opinions to the World's Wife - as this is what you need to be doing in preparation for your exam - NEXT THURSDAY)

- You could read any other the other poems as we only have one other lesson before your MOCK exam! - The Kray Sisters, The Devil's Wife, Frau Freud and Salome might be good ones to consider.

The World's Wife, Week 1

This week we're all starting The World's Wife.

This blogger has made some interesting points about our first poem, Little Red Cap. Take a look:

Now, you understand that I am not encouraging you to copy what they say, as no one reading of a poem is 'right' or wrong. However, it would be useful for you to read her words and decide if you agree.

Just remember: Miss Watson and I can spot the difference between an interesting insight and a copied point a mile off, so be sure to acknowledge your sources if you bring them to lessons!

For those of you that enjoy poetry (you can stay anonymous...don't worry!) there's an article about poetry and the Holocaust. Not that uplifting but quite interesting all the same.

If you've not seen the films - I recommend you do! The books are, of course, far superior and there are plans for a fourth book with Stieg Larsson (the author - who died in 2004) started but never finished.
